Amy Andrews

Minister of Youth and College

amy@oakmontchurch.com

Growing up in a small town on a farm outside Reidsville, NC, I was blessed with a close-knit family that taught me the value of hard work and determination. I went to church regularly and learned how God's love for me never fails and never ends. During college at NC State University, I went from knowing about God to knowing God in a real and personal way. I entered college with pre-med dreams and left college heading to divinity school, though still not quite sure where my life fit into God's big plan.

I graduated from NC State in 1999, married my husband Craig that August and started Campbell University Divinity School two weeks later. I worked with youth and college students in part time positions while in divinity school but it wasn't until graduating from Campbell that I began to seriously consider student ministry full time. That serious consideration landed us at Oakmont where I began working as Minister to Youth and College in August of 2004.

I work with all ages of students, from those entering middle school to those graduating from college and I love the fresh energy of student ministry. It is exciting to dialogue with students about their faith and to listen to questions about how their life fits into God's plan. I love seeing it "click" for students when they realize that God wants a real and personal faith relationship with them. Teaching students what it means to be a disciple of Christ is my biggest passion.

I have a loving husband and two beautiful daughters, Abby and Ava. We love being outside with our 2 black labs!
