FALL 2020 - WEDNESDAY NIGHT BIBLE STUDY CLASSES

Due to the ongoing global pandemic, our Spiritual Formation classes will look different this fall.  Instead of meeting in-person, the groups will be meeting using a digital format like Zoom.  

Below are the groups that will be meeting along with a brief description about each class.

Most classes will end around NOV 18, some will continue to meet or start back up in JAN when our WINTER classes will begin... stay tuned!!!

  • DROP IN BIBLE STUDY

    Coed Bible Study

    Led by:  Carole Swan

    Book:  the Bible - 1 Corinthians


    Wednesday  •  6:30 p.m.  •  ends NOV 18, will begin again in JANUARY


    The only book needed is a Bible and we'll be studying 1 Corinthians.  

    This group will meet every Wednesday night for approximately 45 minutes.   

  • MAKING ALL THINGS NEW

    Women's Group

    In the book Nouwen explores what does it mean to live a spiritual life and how to live it.  The book is written for those who experience a persistent urge to enter more deeply into the spiritual life but are confused about the direction in which to go.  He describes the spiritual life as the active presence of God’s Spirit in the midst of a worry-filled existence. 

              This group will meet September 9th and 23rd,  October 7th and 21st, and November 4th at 6:00pm. 

  • THE BATTLE PLAN FOR PRAYER

              This study has 6 sessions and will meet every other Wednesday beginning September 9.

  • DRAWING NEAR TO GOD THROUGH PRAYER

    This group will discover ways to draw near to God through prayer, explore different kinds of prayer, employ scripture to hear God's voice, and express our own prayers.  Wendy Miller's Invitation to Presence: A Guide to Spiritual Disciplines will be a resource providing background and practical application.  

              This group will meet for five Wednesdays:  Sept 16, 30, Oct 14, 28,  and November 18



  • DREAM BIG

    Coed  Study

    Book:  Dream Big by Bob Goff

    Know what you want, why you want it, and what you’re going to do about it.  In this practical book Bob takes you on a life-proven journey to rediscover your dreams and turn them into reality.  In his book he shows how to learn to clearly define your dreams for yourself, identify the obstacles holding you back, come up with a specific plan for reaching goals, and develop the tools that will help you act on the plan.


    Suggested content will include recommended readings from the book as well as listening to Dream Big podcasts.  Each zoom session will include a DVD lesson by Bob Goff and a time of discussion.

  • HEALTHCARE PROFESSIONALS as MINISTRY/SERVANT-LEADERS

    for Healthcare Professionals

    This group of healthcare professionals will meet every other Wednesday beginning September 16 through the middle of November.

  • NAVIGATING HARD CONVERSATIONS WITH KIDS

    Parents/Adults Coed Group

    Being a parent has it challenges and that includes talking about difficult things with our children.  During this study we will focus on Racial Injustice.  We will primarily use Zoom meetings to engage in discussions, utilizing breakout rooms to allow for smaller groups based on your child’s age (youth/children).  Everyone is encouraged to participate in these drop-in discussions as you are able.  Participants are encouraged to engage with additional content in a variety of ways between discussions, podcasts, articles and books.  Zoom discussions will focus primarily on how to apply learnings/discoveries to kids/students, but you certainly do not have to be a parent to participate.  If the content is of interest to you, we hope you will join in the conversation!

  • CHOOSE YOUR OWN SPIRITUAL ADVENTURE

    Have some “soul friends” with whom you'd like to do some intentional spiritual work but don’t know how or what to do???  Make that a spiritual formation small group!!!  Gather 3-4 friends and I will help you come up with a plan and get you started.  Then you can go for it and I will check in with you periodically.
